I didn’t read this article when I first saw the headline appear yesterday because I was afraid it would be more of what I had just been reading: I had just been scrolling through Tumblr and noticing how it seemed everyone was villainizing Amber Heard and canonizing Johnny Depp. Dozens of posts of from fangirls bitterly angry at Heard who still adored Depp, and I literally couldn’t find a single post that took a different position. The lack of nuance is a little bit terrifying.

If two people are abusive and horrible towards each other, but one is considerably older and more wealthy than the other, who is the abuser? The power differential matters. And I’m so sick of reading that Johnny Depp is a victim. 😡
