I have a relatively great husband in that he really strives to do 50% of the housework —  he actually achieves at about 40% which is still a lot better than many husbands, especially considering that he works 40 hours a week and most of the year, I don’t. (I run a seasonal business. In November and December I am usually working nearly every hour I’m awake, but the rest of the year it’s far less). But still, this article resonated with me: because he’s the breadwinner by a large margin, he has the final say on financial decisions. I love him and I would definitely miss him if he died, but I would welcome the financial autonomy.
