I was at the center of a fandom for a celebrity who was accused of domestic abuse right at the time when we were learning a lot of secrets about a lot of celebrities, fall 2017. After a lot of reading and soul-searching, I decided I believed his accuser and just like that, my closest online friends were suddenly my enemies. It hurt, but it hurt more to think what my favorite celebrity did and I couldn’t seriously contemplate ignoring it.
