In my teens and early 20s, I used to attend quarterly ballroom dances in San Francisco. The requested attire was formalwear from the 18th 19th and 20th centuries. Waltz, polka, the Sir Roger De Coverly, the Congress of Vienna… wow it’s been years since I even thought about that. They were so much fun. I wonder if those still happen. Probably not for the past few years because of Covid, but I haven’t even heard of anything like that since moving to Los Angeles, over 20 years ago.
