OK this is a second article in a row of yours that I cannot identify with. The biggest difference is probably that I live in California where the vaccination rate is 90% and when people talk about how “everyone still needs to be wearing masks” I roll my eyes because anyone here who isn’t vaccinated is just stupid. But also, my entire surviving family is vaccinated. (The person whose health I was most I was most worried about, my mother, passed away a few months ago — not from Covid).) So I understand your anger if your family isn’t vaccinated, but you can only take the horse to water so many times before you just give up and let him die of dehydration. My career is severely impacted by my having to wear a mask and I’m not going to do it anymore. I’m protected. The people I care most about are protected. I’m no risk to any other human being, and it’s not my responsibility to be a goddamn role model for stupid people.
