Personally I don’t reach out to men I know are in pain because it’s like trying to save someone who is drowning - the victim will cling to you so hard that you both will drown. Show a little bit of kindness and empathy to a man in pain, and he’s suddenly proposing marriage. It seems sweet, but that kind of emotional volatility can turn in a second when the woman declines his advances, and suddenly he’s got a knife at her throat. I give men in pain a wide berth because I need to look out for my own safety first and foremost.
