That poor woman. For a few months when I was 19 or 20 I was taking a then-legal, herbal version of ephedrine. I felt great, it’s suppress my appetite and I lost weight, and so yeah my heart went crazy pounding sometimes but I figured that was not that weird. Pretty soon they were yanked off the market because people were getting heart problems. at the time I was super annoyed, but in retrospect I’m very grateful.
