There are two primary possibilities: The daughter stays with the homophobic husband and she gradually becomes more homophobic and leaves her father’s side of the family out of her life. Her father would definitely regret paying for the wedding in that situation. The other major possibility is that she comes to understand that homophobia is bad and leaves her husband, stays in her father‘s life, but at that point both of them might regret so much money being spent on a wedding for a marriage that didn’t last. It seems very unlikely that the marriage will last AND the daughter will resist the homophobia of her in-laws, since she’s not doing that now. It looks like her father would regret paying for the wedding no matter which way it sliced. Keep your money, dude, if only because your daughter may need it later when the homophobic husband kicks her out.
