Why Do All My Facebook Friends Think Trump is Faking Having Covid-19?

I had been avoiding Facebook for a few days, mostly because I watched “The Social Dilemma” on Netflix last week. But the news that Trump had tested positive for Covid-19, which I found out about from The New York Times, The Washington Post, and BBC News, made me curious to see what Facebook’s reaction to the news would be.
I saw gloating, which I expected. I did not expect to see so many people thinking that he was faking it.
The people who were subscribing to the “he’s faking it” idea were some of my most liberal Facebook friends (not to be confused with irl friends), the people with whom I am usually in fervent agreement. They were also mostly people who seem to live on Facebook. You know the type; people who reply to every comment right away, even at one in the morning. Maybe you are one of them? I definitely used to be, before I deleted the app and turned off notifications.
Could my three days off Facebook have caused that much of a schism in how I think compared to how my Facebook friends think?
